Broga is a stripped down version of yoga designed for men (but open to all). No mantras, sitar music or contemplating the meaning of life (though this may happen on its own). This is not your Grandma's yoga!
Strong, energetic, and challenging, Broga combines the best core-strengthening, muscle-toning, cardio-working, stress-reducing, clarity-enhancing yoga postures with functional fitness exercises for an amazing workout. Emma will weave in squats, push-ups, planks, mountain climbers, lunges together with yoga postures stretching the hamstrings, inner thighs, calves, chest, shoulders and back. Areas where men typically have a strong muscle mass and are therefore tighter.
Our very own Emma Galland who teaches Broga Yoga was interviewed in the following articles about Broga Yoga:
The Park Slope Patch: Article
"Fitness Magazine took my Broga Yoga class and wrote an article about it which will help you see for yourself": http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/workout/yoga/what-is-broga/
You’ll get that pumped-up feeling you get from working out and a deep flexibility and relaxation feeling from “working in.”
Good music, cool vibe, and even though Broga is geared towards men, all are welcome.
So, if you've never tried yoga before or just want to try something different, Broga is for you. Check in with us because occasionally we do special Beer & Broga sessions with a complimentary brew to lubricate the joints!
It's only $25 per class. Classes are 1 hour long on Saturdays starting at 1:15 PM at Aqua Studios located at 78 Franklin Street, NY, NY (TriBeCa). Bring your own yoga mat and towel (mats are $2 to rent).

FOR THE MODEST TO THE MIGHTY

This work out challenges me in ways no other work has. There is cardio, strength and stretching that is exhausting and invigorating. I find my other work-outs during the week are far more productive with one Saturday session with Emma. I have been working with Emma for years and she is simply the BEST.
Huge fan - excellent workout/wonderful yoga practice

Emma leads an incredibly difficult and stimulating yoga class. Broga combines a wonderful workout with Emma's intuitive yoga wisdom. You'll get stronger, more flexible, and still find a place of calm. I'd encourage both yoga newcomers and experienced practitioners, whether men or women, to check it out. It's a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon and receive a different kind of workout!
